2024 GWDC Officer Nominations
In accordance with chapter bylaws, the GWDC Officer Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for Chapter Officers for the two-year term beginning July 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2026. The positions open for nomination are: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Nominations must be received by March 22, 2024.
The Officer Nominations Committee will review the candidate submissions and identify acceptable candidates to include on the nomination ballot. The Ballot of Officer candidates will be announced in April and all current GWDC members will be able to vote at that time. Elected Officers will be announced and installed at the GWDC Annual General Meeting in June.
Nomination Eligibility
All current members of the GWDC are eligible to be nominated. The preference is to have candidates that provide consistent positive contributions via Chapter Board experience or other non-profit organization leadership experience.
Candidates must also be willing to commit to the time needed to serve as a Chapter Officer. The Officer must be committed to volunteering the amount of time needed to get the job done. Chapter Officers typically volunteer anywhere from two to more than 10 hours per week, depending on the issues facing the Board of Directors at the time.
Officer Duties
Article V of the chapter bylaws describes the duties of the elected Chapter Officer positions. A summary of Board of Director responsibilities may also be found here. All Volunteers with the GWDC must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), and Conflict of Interest (COI) and Willingness to Serve statements. The nominating committee will make acceptability determinations of potential candidates based on their responses to the NDA, COI and willingness to serve statements.
Nomination Process
A nomination form must be completed for each candidate by the candidate. Nominations are not accepted from anyone other that the candidate being nominated.
The nomination form requires information regarding the candidate. In addition, a brief bio and concise description of the candidate’s interest and experience in non-profit organizations similar to the GWDC is also required. There will also be a confirmation that the candidate will be able to commit to the time needed to fulfill the duties of the Officer position.
It is important the nomination form be complete, descriptive, and concise, as this will be the information used by the Nominating Committee to determine whether the candidate is acceptable.
If you have any difficulty completing the form, please contact us using the Officer Nomination and Voting Questions form.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
