Dear Fellow Members,
As my term as President comes to a close at the end of the month, I want to thank you all. It has been an incredible experience and an absolute privilege to lead ISACA GWDC the last two years. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead the chapter and continue to give back the community in the region.
Through the dedication of our volunteers and membership, we have been able to accomplish many things these last two years. We surpassed the 4,000 member milestone in February for the first time in chapter history and received the 2019 K. Wayne Snipes Award for best very large chapter.
Not only did our chapter grow by over 25%, but GWDC is now the largest ISACA chapter in the world.
This marks the first time in our chapter history that we now have the largest membership base. It is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the success of the initiatives we continue to implement and offer to the community.
The partnerships we have forged with similar organizations and our relationships with academia continue to elevate the profile of our chapter as evidenced by our accelerated membership growth and quality events. GWDC continues to expand its reach and grow into more than just a regional organization.
My volunteering with the chapter dates back to 2014 and it has been one of the most fulfilling experiences I have had. I strongly encourage volunteering and engaging with chapter leadership to understand how you can get involved. Volunteering with an organization like ISACA is a great way to give back to the community, but also help build your personal brand, your network, and learn new skills. The benefits are immeasurable, and I look to continue staying engaged as a volunteer for years to come. The continued volunteerism from many of our Past Presidents is testament to the enjoyment and satisfaction we all get from volunteering with GWDC.
Looking ahead to the next chapter year, I am excited for the new officer team to continue leading the chapter to new heights and bringing continued innovative ideas and education offerings. The chapter is in great hands with Alok Kakker assuming the role of President and Jermaine Stanley as the Vice President. They are great leaders and dedicated to the chapter success.
Once again, thank you all for giving me the opportunity to lead the chapter. I am excited for my new advisory role as Past President and seeing you at future events.
