Dear Fellow Members,
I hope everyone had a great Halloween despite some of the dicey weather. Cybersecurity Awareness month is behind us, but the learning process, cyber resiliency and awareness never stops. Cybersecurity Awareness month is really is every month. The weakest link in cybersecurity defense is us and as much as we can do to increase our knowledge, the more resilient we be.
October was a busy month for GWDC. It started off with ISACA’ first ever Global CommunITy Volunteer Day on October 5th. It was truly incredible to see all the ISACA members around the world giving back to the community and volunteering their time to make a difference. If you want to see photos from the event, they are available on Twitter with the hashtag #ISACACommunITyDay. I’m excited about the possibilities next year and the positive impact ISACA will continue to make across the globe.
As the holidays approach, we are winding down our events. Our certification review courses are continuing through November, but our last education event offering CPE credits of the calendar year is a special seminar on Conducting Audits and Assessments of Data Privacy Regulations this month. It is a great opportunity to increase your knowledge of GDPR and HIPAA.
We are still planning out the final details for our annual holiday party event in early December. Keep a look out for the event information in future communications from the chapter. We hope to see you there and it is a perfect opportunity to bring a colleague or non-member to the event as well. Registration is complimentary and food and drinks are provided.
As always, we encourage everyone to follow GWDC on social media. We increasingly share updates and news on platforms like Twitter or LinkedIn on a regular basis. It is great way to hear about chapter news in a more real time frequency.
