Dear Fellow Members,
GWDC is committed to delivering timely and relevant continuing education through our virtual platforms. We recognize that each of us face unique challenges as a result of the changes in our lives due to COVID-19. I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy in such a difficult time.
Our online Cyber Workshops are free and will be continuing through May at the very least. As we schedule more events, we’ll have them added to the calendar for registration. If you missed any of the events, we posted the recordings on our website to view at your leisure. Members can self-claim 1 CPE per event.
We have two notable events coming up that I want to call your attention to:
- COVID-19 Global Perspective on Technology and Change – GWDC has partnered with the ISACA London and Singapore Chapters to provide insights from around the globe pertaining to COVID-19’s impact on technology and change.
- Trust Exploitation – Social Engineering in 2020 – Security protocols are often built on trust — trust which is exploited by attackers. Renowned speaker, Rachel Tobac is going to give a ‘keynote’ and dissect the anatomy of trust exploitation in real world social engineering attacks, walk through step-by-step examples of attacks happening during COVID-19. This is a live session only. Do not miss it.
Given the challenges and uncertainty we face with COVID-19 and social distancing, we have decided to hold our AGM as a virtual event. We will have prominent speakers such as Dr. Ron Ross and our annual membership briefing to provide a chapter status update, install new officers, and present awards. More information will be posted soon on the website. Look out for more communications.
Despite the changes we are all dealing with on a regular basis, the chapter is continuing to run normally and moving forward with operations in the best possible manner. Our election results have been posted. It is hard to believe the current officer term is nearly complete. As my term as President winds down, I am excited about the strength of the Chapter Board of Directors and Officers. There are a lot of great leaders that will be stepping into new roles when the transition takes place. I am confident there will be more big things ahead for the chapter and continued membership benefits, education, and career growth opportunities.
As always, we encourage everyone to follow GWDC on social media. We increasingly share updates and news on platforms like Twitter or LinkedIn on a regular basis. It is great way to hear about chapter news in a more real time frequency. As previously noted, our latest chapter operations updates pertaining to COVID-19 can be found on the GWDC website.
Stay safe and healthy everyone. We look forward to seeing you all in person as soon as possible.
