Dear Fellow Members,
The spring is a busy time for GWDC. We are actively running events and ramping up the planning and strategy for the next 12 months. During the month of April we hosted multiple chapter CPE events and continued planning for our signature event in June, our Annual General Meeting. This event also commemorates GWDC’s 45th anniversary.
Our Board of Directors were busy supporting ISACA initiatives on Capitol Hill as well. We met with representatives of the staff of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee to promote ISACA initiatives and raise awareness about the organization and what it brings to overall field of technology. More details about our involvement can be found in our chapter news.
The month of May marks the 50th anniversary of ISACA. It is incredible to be a part of such an amazing organization. ISACA continues to take such a positive trajectory throughout the history of the organization to grow and better serves its members and the overall community.
Representatives from your GWDC Board of Directors will be participating in the North America Chapter Leadership Conference in May to continue to help shape ISACA and learn new methods to enhance chapter operations and increase member benefits.
Furthermore, your GWDC Board of Directors has a strategy weekend scheduled in June to plan out the remainder of 2019 and first half of 2020. In addition to aligning to ISACA’s strategic goals, we greatly utilize member feedback and engagement to determine what type of events we hold, speakers to bring in, and creative new ways to engage a broader audience and build corporate relationships.
If you are interested in volunteering and getting more involved with the chapter, any time is a good time. We always need additional help and the only true constraint we have on what we can do is the time of the volunteer pool we presently engage. With greater number of dedicated volunteers, we can continue to deliver more for our membership and community.
