Dear Fellow Members,
It seems like the year is flying by already. The mild winter is nearly behind us and so is the nomination period for 2020-2022 chapter officer positions. Once the nominating committee validates the information provided by the potential candidates, the chapter will send information out to the membership regarding the voting time period. You can read more about the election process on the chapter website.
Even if you did not run for an officer role, there are a lot of ways to get involved with the chapter. Our dedicated volunteers are what keeps the chapter running so smoothly year after year. As new volunteers enter the fold, it brings new ideas and energy into the mix and makes greater things possible.
As we enter March, it kicks off Women’s History Month. ISACA and ISACA GWDC continues support of Women in Technology initiatives through the SheLeadsTech program. SheLeadsTech seeks to increase the representation of women in technology leadership roles and the tech workforce.
GWDC is hosting our annual Women In Technology Conference on March 19. This full day event offers 7 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits and valuable education on topics such as cybersecurity, leadership, and career advancement.
I hope to see you at one of our upcoming events such our Emerging Technologies conference, review courses, or Annual General Meeting (website to be updated soon) in June. We are even getting ready to offer a COBIT2019 course in a few months. Stay tuned for updates.
As always, we encourage everyone to follow GWDC on social media. We increasingly share updates and news on platforms like Twitter or LinkedIn on a regular basis. It is great way to hear about chapter news in a more real time frequency.
