Dear Fellow Members,
We are about a week away from our signature event on June 13, our Annual General Meeting. This conference also commemorates GWDC’s 45th anniversary and ISACA’s 50th Anniversary. I’m incredibly excited to hear from the great speakers we have lined up and provide updates about the chapter.
Just last weekend, your GWDC Board of Directors held a strategy session to plan out the next 12 months of chapter initiatives. In addition to alignment to ISACA’s strategic goals, we greatly utilized member feedback and engagement to determine what type of events we plan to hold, speakers to bring in, and creative new ways to engage a broader audience and build corporate relationships. This two-day dedicated session provides us with an opportunity to determine the most value adds for our members, dependencies, and constraints we may have in getting them implemented.
We have two new exciting partnerships to announce as well with the following events in July:
- IT Audit & Controls 2019 | July 16-18 | Arlington, VA
- ISACA-GWDC members save 15% off when you register with code ITAC19-ISACA at checkout.
- DC Cyber Summit | July 16| Washington, D.C.
- Complimentary access limited number of C-suite or senior level GWDC members
These partnerships offer membership benefits and provide us the ability to promote our chapter with a wide audience within the DC region.
If you are interested in volunteering and getting more involved with the chapter, any time is a good time, but the summer especially. At this juncture we are performing extensive preparation for the fall and 2019 so it is great to get involved now and be a part of some exciting initiatives. We always need additional help and the only true constraint we have on what we can do is the time of the volunteer pool we presently engage. With greater number of dedicated volunteers, we can continue to deliver more for our membership and community.
I look forward to seeing you all at the Annual Meeting on the 13th!
