Dear Fellow Members,
Happy New Year! The first two weeks of 2018 certainly has not been quiet. Winter Storm Grayson hits the better part of the Northeast, Spectre and Meltdown shake up the IT industry world-wide, NIST releases its highly publicized update to its flagship systems security engineering publication, SP 800-160, and if you hadn’t heard, ISACA entered into a new collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Information System Research (MIT CISR). As a result of this partnership, ISACA members now get free access to briefings from MIT CISR on topics ranging from governance to digital transformation. The briefings can be accessed here.
The GWDC is not too far behind – January marks the halfway mark for the Chapter’s fiscal year and we have been busy ensuring we are positioned to execute plans for the second-half. All of our remaining monthly Conferences are open for registration and our first CSX training course is in development at a training location that is new to GWDC. 2018 is an election year so we have begun planning for this and you should be hearing more from us about that next month.
As always, we are constantly seeking additional volunteers to support our growing programs and services. One of our high priority needs is a few volunteers to support our social media platforms. Please send a note directly to email@example.com if you are interested in this behind the scenes role!
Finally, in closing, on behalf of the ISACA Greater Washington, D.C. Chapter, I want to extend great wishes to each and every one of you for a successful and secure 2018. Thank you for your continued support!
