Dear Fellow Members,
It has been quite the start to 2019! We finally have the longest government shutdown behind us and yet we have another potential shutdown looming. We hope that those impacted were able to make it through this difficult time period of uncertainty.
The start of any calendar year is important for goal setting and personal growth. What are your plans for 2019? What actions will you take to develop both professionally and personally? What steps can you take now to build your skills? What are your long-term aspirations? The value of professional organizations like ISACA and GWDC provide countless benefits, networking opportunities, and education resources to take career your career path in the direction you want it to go.
Earning a certification is a great way to increase your skills, build your resume, and increase your salary. ISACA certifications are always near the top of the highest paying certifications.
GWDC is discounting the registration cost of each of our three review courses: CISM, CISA, CRISC to $450 per course for GWDC Members. This is nearly a 40% reduction in price and a great value for anyone planning to take an upcoming certification exam. CISM prep training at the RSA Conference is more than double the cost for less classroom learning time.
Another announcement to be on the lookout for is the nomination period for the V. Lee Conyers Award later this month. This industry-recognized award recognizes dedication to our industry, ISACA, and the GWDC, and holds historical significance to the Chapter. Be sure to nominate candidates you feel are deserving of the recognition.
Hopefully we’ll see many of you at your next event, the IT Audit in Civilian and DoD Environments conference on Feb 14. It is shaping up to have innovative topics with an excellent line up of speakers and multiple corporate sponsors.
