Dear Fellow Members,
The holiday season is officially upon us – in fact, I’m taking my last bite of pumpkin pie as I write this! The holiday season is also CPE season – GWDC has you covered to help you secure those last minute continuing education credits before the end of the year. Many of you likely saw the article we posted on this topic last month, but I wanted to highlight a few upcoming opportunities here:
- Next week on December 7th we will be holding our Cloud Computing, Big Data & Mobile Computing Conference which will get you 7 CPEs (and a hot breakfast and lunch).
- GWDC actively produces webinars on BrightTALK; we most recently held one in November on Stopping the Hack: Using Advanced Analytics to Detect and Respond to Attacks. You can watch any of these recorded events to claim your CPE credits with ISACA to maintain your certifications.
Some other current events include DarkReading’s INSecurity conference this week at National Harbor to which we offered GWDC members $700 off registration. For those of you in attendance, GWDC is hosting a roundtable TODAY to discuss Building Your Security Career Prospects Through Training and Certification – please stop by to say hello! Finally, our much anticipated annual membership networking happy hour is back and we will be returning to Buffalo Billiards in Dupont Circle. Please join us to network with others in our industry and celebrate the holiday season.
As I was reviewing our website earlier this week, it occurred to me that I should highlight for you two valuable links that are 100% self-service. I hope you will find these helpful:
- If you have hiring needs, we have a space on our website where you can post a Job Opportunity. Enter some information into a few fields and click submit and someone on the Board of Directors will review and publish the announcement. Please share this resource with your HR departments!
- If you would like to submit an article or whitepaper, we would love to showcase your contributions on our News & Articles page. These news items are advertised on some of our social media platforms and distributed via email in our monthly newsletter as well.
We continue to seek out volunteers to help us serve you better. Please see our Volunteering page and complete a volunteer survey if you would like to help the Chapter. If you have a specific interest in helping us post content to our WordPress-based website, please contact me directly.
Thank you for your continued support, I look forward to seeing you at some of our upcoming events and connecting with you there or online. See you next week at the annual membership networking happy hour – should be a fantastic turn out!
