Dear Fellow Members,
April to me means Spring and it finally feels like Spring is here! Yet, it is hard to believe that we are already in Q2 – or Q3 for those of you operating on the Government’s Fiscal Calendar. Although the GWDC Chapter year will be drawing to a close in just over two months from now, we remain as busy as ever!
First, I must highlight a few very important Chapter activities that are critical to the future of this chapter. This year is an election year which means next week, you will be asked to vote on the next set of leaders who will have the responsibility of leading this membership organization designed to serve you. Please make your voice heard by placing your vote. You may read about the candidates here.
Second, last week we launched the nomination period of our annual V. Lee Conyers Award. This industry-recognized award recognizes dedication to our industry, ISACA, and the GWDC, and holds historical significance to the Chapter. Please consider nominating someone today before the deadline on May 4, 2018.
Third, we have so many exciting events coming up to include our IoT Conference on April 26th and our 9th Annual Multi-organization Networking Mixer that follows, our CRISC Review Course which begins on April 30, our Annual General Meeting (AGM) to which we expect upwards of 300 attendees, and the networking event that follows, and we have once again partnered with Cyber Summit DC to provide GWDC members free entrance into that event. We will also be holding at least one more “Cyber Night”, our popular series of events with partner universities before the end of the Chapter year as well.
Finally, the Chapter is piloting a new service and we would love to get user feedback from a few volunteers. If this sounds interesting, please contact myself or Sushila Nair. Your efforts will help us achieve the best opportunity for success and launch in time for the AGM.
It’s been great to meet so many of you at recent events like our our first CSX Review Course that was held recently. I hope to see you at a few more before the Chapter year comes to a close.
