Junior Information Security Analyst

Redhorse Corporation is seeking a Jr. Information Security Analyst to be part of a small team responsible for supporting the development and maturation of an Agency-wide information security program for a large civilian Federal agency. The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis skills and be capable of utilizing, MS Access, Excel and SQL to perform said analysis. The candidate will also possess in-depth knowledge of applying, selecting and testing the NIST family of security controls.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities for this position include:
Working closely with team members on InfoSec initiatives including compliance, awareness and training, and security operations.
Supporting the existing Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool, Telos Xacta (or an alternate like CSAM or RSA Archer), to track and reconcile findings from assessments, audits, and vulnerability scans.
Providing help desk and data entry support to GRC tool (e.g., Telos Xacta) users.
Supporting government data calls (FISMA, FMFIA, BDR, etc.) and monthly reports.
Assisting in the maintenance of a vulnerability management process for the Agency.
Assisting in analyzing vulnerabilities, POA&Ms, and other findings.
Conducting relevant research, data analysis, and developing reports.
Participating in peer review of deliverables.
Minimum Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, and Credentials include:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline is required. Four (4) additional years of experience in IA/Information Security will be an acceptable substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of one (1) year of IA and information security specialized experience.
Strong inter-personal, written, and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical staff.
Demonstrated ability to work in teams and prioritize and manage competing work assignments in a time sensitive environment.
Experience with composing professional email correspondence.
Keen attention to detail and the ability to solve problems using best practices and systematic approach.
Preferred Tech/Tools Experience:
Telos Xacta IA Manager (or similar tool like CSAM, RSA Archer, etc.)
Introductory or intermediate security certifications (e.g., Security+, CASP or equivalent).
Experience working with Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) requirements and NIST guidelines.
Knowledge and understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
