The Greater Washington, D.C. (GWDC) Chapter has a tradition of providing high-quality training programs, newsletters, and other services to our members. The current Chapter Board continues this tradition with the following events and services.
When joining ISACA, select USA-DC-Washington: Greater Washington, D.C. Chapter (005) as the local chapter. Steps for changing chapter membership are located on the Membership Benefits page.
The chapter hosts a variety of training events to provide GWDC members with valuable knowledge and skills and earn CPEs for their certifications. The GWDC also provides in-class review courses for ISACA Certification exams. GWDC members receive discounts to these events, but all events are generally open to the public.
The Chapter also hosts social events that provide members with networking opportunities. Events include networking socials, baseball outings, and the Annual Golf Tournament.
Presentations from the Monthly Conferences are posted to the chapter website after a conference ends. Presentations are posted only if permission is granted by the presenter. Presentations and training materials from special seminars and exam review courses not posted to the website, as these are usually proprietary materials.
Training providers periodically offer discounts to GWDC members. In addition, the GWDC Board of Directors periodically will negotiate discounts for GWDC members. Members should contact the training provider, not the GWDC, regarding details and questions regarding training offers. Instructions and discount codes for training offers are posted on the Chapter At-a-Glance section of MyISACA.
The Chapter notifies GWDC members of chapter news and events via e-mail several times a month. GWDC members do not need to do anything to be added to the mailing list. GWDC members are automatically enrolled in the chapter e-mail list based on the information provided to International. The GWDC updates the chapter mailing list at least once a month.
The mailing list is open to anyone, so ISACA members from other chapters and non-members can join.
The chapter provides employers with the opportunity to advertise job openings to GWDC members. Specific details are required in the job opening form to help GWDC members understand and apply for the job.
